What is a good control group for this experiment?

The experiment relates to acid rain on rocks. We are using three limestone, red sandstone, and marble rocks and vinegar to represent acid rain. I put each rock in its own cup and poured 25 mL of vinegar on each. In this scenario, what would be a good control group?|||All three rocks but substitute 25 mL of pure water for the vinegar.

This is to show that the erosion is not due to the high water content of the vinegar.

John H|||all three rocks but without vinegar on them.
