What would be the control group in this experiment?

I'm trying to see whether the sugar concentration in a preservative affects the rate of decay within bread.





So what would be the control group in this experiment? Would it be a piece of bread with a sugarfree preservative or a bread with no preservative? Or would the control be something else?|||a bread with preservative but no sugar would be the control beacuse that how you see if the sugar made any diff if you dont use preservative than ur basicaly seeing if preservative helps the bread stay fresh longer than the one with out but ur trying to see if the sugar makes a diff
