What is the control/experimental group in this experiment?

What does elevation have to do with home runs hit at a MLB stadium? I have all of the home runs per game averages and everything, but I'm not sure if there is a control group and stuff. Thanks.|||First you need to define the variable you are looking for - what is changing? Your hypothesis might be that the frequency of home runs would increase with elevation above sea level so elevation is the variable.

So in this case your control group would need to be a stadium at (or as near to) sea level as possible. The experimental group would be the stadiums at higher elevations. Unfortunately there are other variable you cannot control in this experiment such as field dimensions, direction of prevailing wind, the pitcher and the batter.

You might be better served to follow one specific batter and their numbers in different parks. For instance, take Manny Ramirez and see how his HR/AB compares in different parks.
